Wigan Pier

A wonderful blue sky Winter’s day for our stroll down the Leeds/Liverpool canal to the famous Wigan Pier Basin.
This is one of the original warehouses used for storage and loading barges at the height of the industrial revolution.
Recently it has been a pub/restaurant called The Orwell, and is now undergoing refurbishment in the latest upgrade to the area.
