The Blue Lamp

My first morning patrol was interrupted by two police cars, and three ambulances travelling very quickly with flashing blue lights and sirens.

Today’s Blipfoto catches the blue light.

They were speeding to a traffic accident which had occurred between St Michaels and Leuchars. From subsequent reports it did cause disruption to traffic in the area.

That particular stretch is used by many commuters. It is a road with blind summits and a rather sneaky bend.

Pat called our Medical Centre to make an appointment for a blood test, and was given one in the afternoon.

All appointments are being made on the morning of each day, and is dependent on the number of medical staff who report for work. Covid rules!

Pat had prepared herself with a hot shower to encourage blood flow. Not a great success and the poor nurse on duty had to try at 3 areas before the required amount of the red fluid was obtained.

While this drama was unfolding I sat in the car I noticed that our medical practice has five female doctors and one male.

No wonder it operates so smoothly and efficiently. The solitary male partner is a fantastic doctor. He certainly uncovered my congenital deformities after dealing with them since birth. They are well hidden and required much research before being diagnosed.

Good news, but the result was life changing.

This is a bit maudlin.
