Wordle

I’m hooked on Wordle. 

It’s a simple little game, one five letter word per day to guess in six attempts, with clues along the way akin to the old Mastermind game from the 70s. Its real genius is that you can share your answer grid but without revealing the answer - and everyone in the world has the same word, so nobody is scooting ahead with a score of 17 zillion.  Completely free, no ads, no notifications, no subscription. There is some logic to it but the joy comes from a word popping into your head from somewhere in the ether. It’s a good old fashioned web page (when did web pages become old fashioned?) - just Google it if you fancy playing. 

On Wednesday the word was spelt the American way - oh the indignation from British Twitter folk - well, it’s not as if we have anything else to be outraged about, eg prevaricating Prime Ministers and predatory Princes…..
