The “Kissing” Tree (or not)
Sunny with a high of 47 deg F and predicted low of 32 deg F. My daughter woke me up again but not as early. She asked if I can take Mack for an orthodontist appointment later this month. We are happy to provide taxi service but ask for advance notice. The kitties had their annual visit to the vet. Hubby says they did great. Millie is losing weight but not an alarming amount. Her dominant sister hogs the food bowl. They are almost 15 so any changes worry us. I scouted out my blip while they were gone. This tree, located not far from our neighborhood, is loaded with mistletoe that is only visible in the winter. I understand folks use a shotgun to get it down in the forest, guess you need a very tall ladder and saw in a residential area. With COVID, I doubt many put up mistletoe in the last two years. Hubby and I are very reserved folks; we’ve never had any hung in the house. Besides, it may be harmful to animals. We put away many more decorations so the house is back to normal except for the dining room-tomorrow’s task. We had a bit of paperwork type jobs, Hubby had PT (I took a nap for that 1.5 hour) and now he’s gone to provide advice to a brother Knight. Leftovers for dinner - yay. My daughter brought over her new Ford Expedition to show us. It is quite a nice vehicle-seats 8 so they will have plenty of room now. My cousin is a little better today but is still in the hospital. Hoping to do a bit of reading after dinner. Thanks for dropping by. I appreciate hearing from each of you. Stay safe. “A barren detested vale, you see it is; The trees, though summer, yet forlorn and lean, O'ercome with moss and baleful mistletoe”. - William Shakespeare
