Can you identify this plant?

Can anyone identify this plant, please? It is apparently not a native to Australia and has defeated the combined minds of the horticultural fraternity in Kalamunda Market.
We were offered 'Heliotrope' and 'Verbena' but I don't think it is either.

Any ideas?
