Does anyone know why the ones I had last year which came up really early have absolutely no flowers, just long leaves, yet these which I bought at the weekend and buds appeared overnight??

Long day but now I'm off until Monday and debating whether I will go to Kew Gardens or London on Friday, but its only a possibility - work is so crazy its just nice to have a breathing space.
