Nature Diary... A lovely spring-like day

After many days of greyness gloom and chill today dawned like a genuine spring-like day. Lots of lovely little birds appeared tentatively peering at the feeders from a distance, and then one by one they ventured out of cover for a quick bite to eat. The sky was blue, there was no wind, the day was exceptionally mild and brought hopes of a good year this year.

Never far away sat an ever hungry pigeon, un-threatening, but very capable of scoffing any and all food that the little birds didn't get to first, and thankfully, unable ever to eat from the high-level feeders.
