Each January the fieldfares arrive from (I think) Scandinavia - I always leave the windfalls for them (and the blackbirds - and, this year, the bouquet of pheasants we seem to have acquired - and, yes, it seems a group of pheasants can be called a ' bouquet ' amongst other things).

A flock of fieldfares can clear a huge amount of apples in a very short time!!!!!  They are related to the thrush but, I think, much prettier.
