When your rock is sedimentary
it's formed in layers, that's elementary.

Igneous rocks are really neat,
they're made by a volcano's heat.

And if your rock is metamorphic
It's suffered something catastrophic,
Earthquake or volcanic fire
Creates these rocks that we admire.
