Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens

Serious icy morning. Much scraping of windscreen to drive to the pool. Technically, they said the air temperature was just on zero, so they let us swim in the outdoor pool. (Irritating new David Lloyd rules.)

The sky was clear blue, the light was amazing.

This RHS partner garden apparently opens at 10.30 on Wednesday but there was no sign of life when I arrived. A couple of garden volunteers arrived and then the staff member, full of apologies.

I told you this is a well kept secret treasure.

I had a fabulous wander. I missed the shot of the day as I wasn’t quick enough to capture the magnificent buzzard.

But there was a rich range of sparkling light, shadow, and glistening frost. 

My extra is of the hall itself, now a wedding venue (aren’t they all !). I’m tempted to ask for a quote for an imaginary event, as it’s probably the only way I could get inside……..now there’s a thought.
