Thanks for the positive feedback on yesterday’s mono Monday story and accompanying photo. I really enjoyed writing it. It was true and I was “Miss C.” Thanks to ApolloFly for the fun theme.
Today’s blip is of our church bridge. Pretend I don’t live in the desert, that this is snow and that the arroyo is frozen over. Our parking lot is huge but parking is impossible. Several years ago, the parish bought land adjacent to the church for overflow. They had to construct this bridge over the arroyo for access to the church. It made for a boring picture so I inverted it.
I did walk a little but getting two crowns, from beginning to end on the same side yesterday, was brutal. It took five hours. Still hurts.

The Pope was really early for his flight. He asks his driver if he can drive around a little bit because he hasn’t driven since he became Pope. He’s a bit rusty so he’s driving poorly. Red lights are flashing behind him so he pulls over. When the officer walks up to the window his eyes go wide. He says to the Pope, “Hold on for a minute,“ and he goes back to his car to radio the chief.
Officer: “Chief, we have a situation. I have pulled over a very important figure.”
Chief: “How important? A Governor or something?”
Officer: “No, Chief, he’s bigger.”
Chief: “A celebrity?”
Officer: More important, sir.”
Chief: “A foreign leader?“
Officer: “No, sir. He’s even much more important.”
Chief: “WELL, WHO IS IT?”
Officer: “Actually, I’m not sure. But the Pope is his driver.”
