Victorian teachers today!
A meeting with the new curator today. She is very nice and extremely knowledgeable, but I disagree with everything she is planning for our historic castle. Apparently launching the first week of April, the. Castle will be re-interpreted as a 1930s country house, as per the last owner when she moved in there, using posed mannequins, projections, sounds and smells etc. Absolutely nothing about a country house will interest the children, or indeed teachers because it’s going to be a real stretch of the imagination to fit any of it into the national curriculum. I fear we will lose most of our regulars to one of the two nearby rival castles. To top it all the majority of my 70+ resources will have to be totally re written, an impossible task by April. And I am being told now that the launch is April, communication at an all time low!
