Blast from the past

Made a steamed suet jam roly poly for the ladies today after their pea and ham soup.  Can't remember the last time I made one but it turned out OK and they all enjoyed it on yet another dull day.
I explained that I will not be able to host the lunch next week as No2 son is decorating hall and stairs.  Fortunately another lady volunteered.  One said she couldn't do it as she is hosting her book club for tea on Thursday and needs days to prepare!  I don't need days to prepare for hosting lunch once a week.  No stamina these youngsters!
