An old gold miners cottage in the woods near Bontduu stands derelict. The nearby Cronfa reservoir nestles between two rocky outcrops. You can hear the complete silence. The tree limbs and walls are carpeted with mosses, while lichens grow on sessile oak, and birch tree trunks. Elsewhere fungi, ferns and liverworts sprout in abundance.
