Hope

I found this nest in the grass. I definitely hope the babies had hatched and fledged before the wind tore it from the tree.

The tiny thing was less than 2 inches across so I assume it belonged to a waxeye or a fantail, though it was in native bush so it could also have been a tom tit. I'm sure an ornithologist would know the difference in nests but I don't.
