Fact or Fiction
The Queen owns all the swans in the UK. Dating back to the 12th century, the Crown has held the right to claim ownership of all unmarked mute swans swimming in open waters. This legislation was created as swans were eaten as prized food at banquets and feasts. In reality the current Queen only excercises ownership on certain stretches and tributaries of the River Thames around Windsor. Thanks to Apollofly for hosting Mono Monday
