Artisan Pottery.

With no guests in the Lodge until Saturday we made another short visit to do a few jobs and check the place over.  

Looking for a blip I ended up looking at the few ornaments we have left in there.  Under the "Safer stays" protocol we have had to work to during the pandemic, soft furnishings such as cushions, books, etc. have to be removed.  The pine bookcase looked so bare with nothing on it we left some of the easily disinfected object d'art.

When we equipped the lodge we chose craftsmen made items and pictures.   These are like pottery champleve, the design has been laid out with a raised ridge, probably "slip", then the areas between colour glazed.  

Another interesting point the shot shows is the way wood darkens with age.  Look carefully at the shelf and the wood behind and you will see it is lighter in colour than the rest.  This is because books have kept the light off those parts until early 2020.
