Wigeon and the Brough of Birsay

I was unable to get out to the west coast for the really big waves of a few days ago, but the sea was still running quite high today. A walk from The Loons to The Choin, then over Marwick Head to Birsay Palace. Saw my first NeArctic gull of the winter- a glaucous gull, lots of greylag, a pair of ravens, and about 76 purple sandpiper (extra)
