Back To The Grind

My Dear Princess and Dear Friends,

Usually, the last day of Xmas hols is a bit depressing and I mope around all grumpiness and bile because I have to return to work.

This is the first year EVER where that was not the case. Don't get me wrong. It is not like I skipped out of bed this morning, but neither was I particularly grumpy.

And when I saw Corrie's big smile and she greeted me with a huge hug, I felt so much better. And then Ellie came in and the process repeated itself.

We did lunch, like girlfriends, and I listened to Ellie talking about her upcoming wedding and about Corrie's Xmas.

And when we got back to the office, Ellie amused me by throwing a tantrum because she had to attend a Project Bumpaddle meeting. She literally threw herself on the floor and thrashed, like her daughter Aubrey at home.

I have missed Ellie.

Don't get me wrong. Work was also done. Meetings happened. I even sent an email.

But there was no nose to the grindstone. I don't think Team Gromit even owns a grindstone.
