Bonscale towers, Bonscale Pike
LARGE ON BLACK: You know it makes sense!
It's a good job we both remain flexible on where we go. Originally we thought of heading down to the Coniston area, but it looked likely to be wet. The forecast looked best for the east today, our first thought was to head to High Force at Teesdale, but as we drove out along the A66, it looked reasonable to the east of Ullswater. So we parked at Pooley Bridge, and walked Arthur's Pike, Bonscale Pike and Loadpot Hill; a 9 mile circular, pretty boggy in places, but the worst of the rain missed us.
Just before the summit of Bonscale Pike are these two towers, rather precisely built, overlooking Ullswater and the Helvellyn range in the distance.
Arthur's Pike: 110/214
Bonscale Pike: 111/214
Loadpot Hill: 112/214
