Memories
I read an article in yesterday’s Guardian newspaper about the Saola last night. I will try and add the link to the website later).
This morning I dug out my old photos from my time as a VSO volunteer in Bach Ma National Park, Vietnam back in 1999-2001. Including this one of a baby saola, whose mother had been killed by a poacher’s snare. Needless to say, my park colleagues didn’t manage to save the wee thing.
Great memories of a fascinating time in my life - eventually spent 4 years working with NGOs alongside Vietnamese National Park colleagues. I learned loads, and hopefully some of the things I did were helpful. Though slightly depressing that, like so much in the world, there’s not been any improvements in 20 years despite the efforts of many good people.
