Geometric diamonds.

This spider has woven almost parallel lines on it's web.  I wonder what caused it to do that.   As you can see, rain overnight creating these diamonds, but then it cleared and it has been hot and muggy all day.  I stupidly did the hedge in the middle of the day and came inside with a beetroot face and needed a cold shower to cool off.  What an idiot.  Lightning later that night but none close enough to tempt me to go storm chasing.
