RIP Vicky Dwane- 16th June 1938 to 23rd March 2013

Today was a sad but yet lovely day. It was James's aunty Vicky's funeral and celebration of life service. The day started at Fair Haven- the Hoggarth's family home. Then we travelled to Morecambe to the crematorium, the service here was close family and friends. It was brief but lovely. During Vicky's committal we listened to Mumford and Sons- Vicky's nephew Ted is in the band so this was just perfect. We then went to St Oswald's Church, Burneside for a church service. The church was packed which must have been very comforting for Julian and Gordon (Vicky's two sons) We sang I vow to thee, my country and Jerusalem. Both Julian and Gordon spoke beautifully about their mum, they did her proud. Vicky had requested that the poem Don't Stand at my Grave be read and it was Julian who read it. When I got home I went and sat in our top garden watching the sun going down and I thought about the words of the poem. Today for me Vicky was the sun going down behind Whitbarrow Scar. RIP AV.
