Keeping watch
This statue is a real favorite of mine. Chief Sawnee of the Cherokee, stands at the base on the mountain named for him, and looks north towards the Georgia mountains and the start of the Appalachians.
The legend goes that he buried gold within the heart of the mountain leaving the clues,
'The sun rises on it,
The sun sets on it,
And the sun shines on it all day long'.
No one has found it yet.
A great hike up the mountain to the Indian Seats.Sunny but chilly!
