Mrs Evil Goat

Back on these for three months. My choice to take them but not a choice really. If I'm unlucky enough for my cancer to come back I need to be able to tell myself I did everything possible to prevent that. My oncologist said it was entirely my decision - there isn't any evidence to say how effective having more chemo is 3+ months after surgery. That's not to say it's not effective, it's just that they don't have the data as most people will have it within 3 months. For me my priority was to have my ileostomy reversal as soon as possible because I wasn't having an easy time with it but they wouldn't do that whilst I was having chemo. And my oncologist refers to it as mop up chemo - belt and braces but far far less important than the treatment I've already had. So I've got mixed feelings about it. It's hard to get on with life and try to forget about cancer when I'm having to pop this amount of pills twice a day and deal with the side effects. But I just keep telling myself I will be done by the end of March and it's a small price to pay if I'm lucky enough to keep cancer away for good.

We've had a very horsey day today. I did morning stables on my own then back with the kids at lunchtime for their riding lesson. We made sure Jack had time for a wee before tacking up as he won't wee when someone is on him. Sure enough he did a massive one as soon as he got in the stable! And was much more co operative in his lesson. Still not happy that we'd not sorted the rain out for him and he made the kids work hard but so much better than the last few rides.

I had a lesson booked with Ruth but she rang and bailed on us as she wasn't feeling well and had a cancellation at another yard meaning she'd have a two hour wait doing nothing before she came to us. Disappointing as I've not had a lesson since the summer but I messaged Jenny who was also meant to be having a lesson after mine and we went on a hack round the woods instead so all was not lost!
