Change Yet No Change

Toothache wasn’t the start of year I had in mind but it was the order of today nonetheless. Experiencing London intensely cold and very quiet was an occasionally eerie experience, although much of that feeling could have been from the anaesthetic that got pumped into my face for my root canal. It’s a period of change yet London felt almost frozen in time - decorations not entirely down, few of its people around, and many hospitality businesses unusually empty or derelict.
