Settling

She chatted to me on the phone tonight, not video but a nice 20 minute call. She’s settling pretty well, she likes the new dorm despite her initial resistance. She was very pleased to be going to boarders swimming tonight. She was whinging that she has to sit in prep time even though she has none but we agreed she’d read, do some theory and would have a nice Lego time beforehand so she was a bit more amenable!

Her disgruntled of the day was her new French teacher, which is a shame because She loved her old one and this one has a very different approach. But it gave us opportunity to talk about positive attitude, talking in ways that can bring resolution and being kind and patient, not forming immediate snap opinions…. Lots of learning lessons when you’re 12!
