New moon and Jupiter

We went up the hill this evening to look for Mercury, which should be in alignment with Jupiter and the moon. I think perhaps air pollution causing this amazing sunset also obscured Mercury, which was low in the sky. A wonderful sunset anyway, cold, crisp and clear.
Also made more marmalade! And a pork pie! And a birthday cake! Off on our tour down south tomorrow:-))
