Hadrian's Wall Trail
It was a glorious day with bright sunshine. The snow and ice showed no signs of melting.
I went up to Hadrian's Wall Trail at lunchtime and started to walk west from Limestone Corner. The wind wasn't too bad, but it was very cold. Last week we had a lot of rain. The water had frozen on the fields and then it snowed on top. This meant that walking was not altogether pleasant. The ice threatened my equilibrium on occasions!!
I climbed this stile after the photo. It was very icy, despite the tread marks from previous walkers.
I loved being out. The views to the north were wide and spacious. In the end, I did not go far, just a quick out and back.
Mum had a big nose bleed last night and a small one this morning. Our GP came to see her after afternoon surgery to help with one or two things. She is lovely and we enjoyed her visit. She told us that she took her children skiing in Hexham in the dark yesterday and they loved it!
