Frilly yellow lichen.
Today is grocery delivery and kitchen cleaning day so not much else got done except some exercises and taking my prescription to the chemist. Booked a new grocery slot and forgot to phone a roofer. Went to Strath Community Woodland to have a short walk and look for lichen. I loved the colour of this one. It's very common and can be found near the shore on rocks and walls (parietina means walls). It's also found on inland rocks, walls or tree bark and often near livestock or farmland. It's quite pollution tolerant and has been used for measuring levels of toxic elements. It also has good anti-viral properties and was used in the past as a remedy for jaundice because of its yellow colour. The things you learn while out taking photographs.
