Night time in Zell am See
Overcast all day on the ski slopes of Zell am See. Snow falling a lot of the time, big wet globs of it lower down, but smaller icy flakes higher up. The new snow is welcome as some of the pistes were getting bare in places, particularly lower down, but it made skiing conditions this morning difficult, with piles of new snow on top of ice and flat light with no shadows, giving poor visibility. But we persevered and the afternoon got better as more snow fell, the icy patches got fewer and occasionally the visibility improved .
But not conducive to photography, so today's blip is Zell am See at night, after two glasses of gluevine. It was quite surreal, with wet snow falling among the christmas lights and people milling around the streets (the centre is pedestrianised) but somewhere there was a blackbird in full voice --- lovely!
