Not so funny bone

Big storm, very close by, last night. Most of the rain done by mid-morning, but howling winds continued all day. Headed down to Squeaky Beach, which unfortunately was not squeaky today, presumably because the sand was wet. Beach was absolutely beautiful, although the kids weren’t loving being lashed by sand each time there was a gust of wind. Quiet afternoon at our Airbnb. Kids watched movies, J and I played scrabble, he did some painting, I read and had a nap. V nice. Until dinner, that is, when it became clear E was a bit stir crazy after an inside afternoon…
B, J and M arrived at 8.30, A still awake, much to M’s delight. A has given everyone a tour of the place, pointed out what is in each of the kitchen drawers, let them know what time breakfast is and taken everyone’s drink orders for the morning. Ah, she’s so earnest (and a good host, it turns out!).
