Last gasometer

Went for a walk along the river into town. It was very mild - no gloves or scarves needed today. Did a few jobs in town, stopped for a cup of coffee and then walked back via the canal. 
Demolition of the last gasometer has started. The gasometer has been a landmark ever since I moved to Reading in the mid 1980s. The first house we bought was on a street that looked down to the gasometer - then still in use I think.
