Rothiemurchus

Such a strange day. Blue skies over the Spey valley, but a thick cap of storm clouds on the Cairngorms to the south meant dull light on my long walk to Lochan an Eilein, up Ord Ban, and then back through the endless wild pine forest of Rothiemurchus. The detour to Loch Morlich was a bad idea, as the forest is less attractive, and it's nearer the mountains so had worse weather.

Back in Aviemore, the pint of Tradewinds and massive bowl of beef chilli nachos went down very well before the final couple of kilometres to my bed-and-breakfast.

Back and showered by 16:30, the game now is to kill time without falling asleep!
