Parental care

Yukky, yukky day today.............sooooooo hot.  Virtually every window and door in the house was open and still I was melting.  Nothing for it but to stay indoors and not move much.......thank goodness for the cricket.  Even then, by mid-afternoon I was very drowsy and needed a nanna nap!

The wildlife around the garden seem to be faring ok though I have seen a couple of birds seemingly wilting under the heat.  The bird bath is being used a little but not as much as I would have expected.  Maybe the water is getting to warm for it to be cooling for them..?

New visitors arrive tomorrow so some of today was spent readying.  Fortunately, nothing too strenuous.  

In COVID news today there were 31 new community cases; 53 are in hospital and 6 in ICU.  There are 1143 active community cases.
