Island weather
I suggested to Mr A we could walk along to the barn to meet Treshnish, but he replied that he didn’t want to get caught in heavy rain… As it happens, that fate would have befallen us if I’d insisted, so I’m glad we took the car, although we got wet enough getting into and out of it as a heavy shower passed over just as we left the shelter of the sheep pens, after having a mini tour after our coffee. It was lovely to spend time with Treshnish and S, learning more about the farm and generally sharing experiences (including covid… Mr A being the only one of us not to have caught it…). At one point, S let the farm dogs out of their kennel and they were quickly there seeking a bit of attention (and the blur in the extra is Coco, who spent ages sitting quietly next to Mr A as he stroked her).
After we got back here, there was hail and one or two flashes of lightening and peels of thunder, but then later on it was good enough weather for me to get out for a rapid parade around the fields in front of the cottage, although I didn’t go too far. And the water courses were full (see extras). There have been more heavy showers this evening.
More quiet reading, wood burner, eating (salmon and scrambled (Treshnish) eggs), whisky and chocolate, and reading (today mainly a PhD thesis which I am examining….).
