Flower power

My friend Barbara always does a count up of the different types of plants in flower in her garden on New Year’s Day. She told me that this year, there were 36, this includes daisy and dandelion. She has a large garden by the way and is a keen and knowledgeable gardener. It’s not a record, one very warm winter produced types of bloom into the 60s if my memory serves me correctly! The summer fuchsia in a pot outside my front door has been in bud for some while but the warm weather has encouraged them to burst into life.
