Christmas (slight return)

Finally, the Minx is out of isolation, and we can have a bit of Christmas together! Over wine, cheese, and crackers, we opened our presents, and it was all gratifyingly festive.

Here's one of her gifts to me - delivered just in the nick of time - a Bad Seeds Christmas tree decoration :-)

I can remember when gig merchandise was all t-shirts and posters, and the first artist I remember breaking the mould on that was Nick Cave. I bought a Bad Seeds ski hat at one of his gigs, which has sadly gone missing, but which Hannah is wearing in my favourite photo of her from when she was about two years old.

I think Nick Cave was also the first artist I knew who sold tea towels as merchandise, although that's far more common these days. Indeed, I have two Public Service Broadcasting tea towels, one featuring space rockets and the other detailing light bulbs!
