Wuthering Heights Location?
We started the New Year with a muddy walk in The Peak District. We started in Ilam but headed away from the crowds towards Castern Hall. We walked through Castern Wood Nature Reserve which is full of wildflowers in the Spring and Summer. So this will be a walk to revisit later this year.
The return leg took us past the ruined Throwley Hall which just looked like it could be used for a film location for Wuthering Heights - after the fire.
The extra of the sheep feeding gives an idea of the mud we were dealing with. We were relieved it was a dry day as it would have been even worse!
A good start for our walking year as my other half has to get fitter. He's signed up to complete the Coast to Coast in the summer.
