Fisherking

.....vindaloo,vindaloo..........

Really I had Garlic Chilli Korai Balti Chicken....after poppadoms and pickles and chicken paneer starters......but there isn't a song with that in the lyrics.

Another day doing sod all apart from:

a trip to a friends to pay our share for a present for an upcoming 50th birthday (next weekend)
a trip to see the boys....we managed to sort out and prepare 45 fishing poles, 12 brollies, 27 seat boxes, 8 landing nets and 36 rigs ready for the first coaching session in three weeks time.

Around four D phoned to say that he and V had been struck down by Montezuma's Revenge so they weren't quizzing tonight. The Boss was working until 8.00......so I made an executive decision....booked us into the Mumbai Lounge for a curry. She came home....I poured her a coffee......bundled her into a car and off we went....spontaneous or what?

Nice meal....but slightly spoiled by the three prats on the next table who moaned about the bill (just under £60) and basically bullied the young waiter into providing a complimentary drink.....they asked....and when he suggested that they weren't regulars and hadn't really spent that much.....they said they would come back next week with friends if they got one....threatened not to leave a tip...and then discussed calling for the manager....all within ear shot of the young lad

Eventually he brought them three Baileys....they had the nerve to complain that it wasn't what they wanted....and after he left the table they moaned that it wasn't as much as it seemed because it had ice in it.......and then cheerfully....but very quietly...... agreed that they wouldn't be back because they hadn't got the beer they wanted...before leaving a £3 tip!

The Boss and I go there reasonably often...enough to be recognised....our meal for two cost £44......and we would never dream of asking for a free drink!....there are Indian and Chinese and Italian restaurants all over this town where I do get a complimentary drink at the end of the evening....because I taught the owner's children...or coached them at hockey....or fishing....but I don't feel it's my right to have a freebie...and I'd never ask for one or be annoyed if one wasn't offered.

Rant over!

Das vidanya moy padruga.
