'Fr. Moore's Well'..............!

Well my friend and I had a lovely afternoon out.....
I really enjoyed it....
We started with a lovely lunch in a new restaurant I wanted to try...
then we decided to drive over to Kildare Town and put our 'Tourist' hats on!!
Amazing how you can travel so far away to 'see things' but never really look at 'your own place' like that.....
well, that's what we did today..
we parked the car at 'The Village' a designer shopping outlet...
and from there we walked into Kildare town....and went to see St. Brigid's Cathedral built between 1223 and 1230...
it also has a High Cross and a Round Tower....the highest tower in Ireland that is accessible and can be climbed....unfortunately we were to early for that ..it doesn't open 'til May 1st.....so we'll have to go back..
On the way home ..we called to Fr. Moore's well.......a Holy Well with 'cures' in particular for headaches.......
All manner of things are left at these shrines by people who have been cured of their complaints......
This shrine involves three visits and each time you must do three things;
1. Pray a decade of the Rosary...
2 Walk across the stones 3 times North to South and splash the water on your head .....
3....Pray to Our Lady...
There is also St. Brigid's Well...the other side of Kildare....but we didn't get there today....
