Just Chillin' Out

Piper would have preferred a few more inches, but beggars can't be choosers!   She's been waiting for snow since last March.  Although it was only 8 degrees (about -13C), she went right outside and lay down in it.  I think Admirer would agree that she is a very silly dog!  Remembering Admirer with love and sending thanks to davidc for keeping Silly Saturdays going in her honor. 

I am grateful to Darrin for shoveling the snow off our sidewalk and driveway!  We're still able to do it, but it isn't as easy as it used to be.  D was finished in about half the time it would have taken both of us to do it!

Fire Update:  Even under 8 inches of snow, the fire is still flaring up in places and smoldering in others.  It is under control, though.  The 37,000 evacuated residents still have not been allowed to return.  991 homes were completely destroyed and 127 more were damaged.  Three people have now been reported missing and the snow is hampering search efforts.  No downed power lines were found in the area where it started so the cause is still being investigated.  It's going to be a very long time before life gets back to normal for so many people.
