Security Pigeon

This wood pigeon looks quite at home perched on the builder's yard security camera. Its homing pigeon relatives are quite at home with cameras. Pigeons carried miniature cameras in WW1 and the CIA attached cameras to pigeons in the Cold War in the 1970s.

Nice bit of sunshine at times for New Year's Day and no rain for a change. I forgot to watch the concert from Vienna this morning but have been enjoying it on BBC Four this evening. The flowers were beautiful as usual.This year nerines featured. I always think of the New Year's Day when my grandson stayed with us as a baby while his parents were at a party. I danced around the living room with him in my arms throughout the entire concert.
