What is this strange object?

It didn't last long before normal service was resumed, but it did return this afternoon and made something I seem to remember as shadows!  A very welcome sight!

Happy New Year everyone, although it does feel like this is our third attempt to get 2020 right!  I wish you all a good 2022, and thankfully Mr T slept through the fireworks, although I don't know how!
