First Light of 2022

Happy New year! … and the planes are taking people back home now and bringing fresh tourists into Switzerland, no doubt transporting hidden covid with them in both directions. Sometimes, when you know the infection rate in the ski stations is so high, it doesn’t feel like we have made much progress since this time last year when everything was closed down except the outdoor facilities.  Yet the scientists really have! I bet most of us on this site are probably three times vaccinated and feeling relieved that we can socialise again. Thank you to all those who have worked their socks off to create these vaccines and all the hospital workers who have kept people alive who would otherwise have died before their time. People in poorer countries should be given the same access to these vaccines or their birth lottery will maintain or increase their significant poverty. (Thanks for reminding me Old Timer). Stay safe.
