Here’s to…

It’s been another year that I’ll be glad to see the back of.

There have been some awful times and some scary moments. The emptiness of distance from family and friends. The frustrations, and the loss of everyday sources of joy and spontaneity.

There have also been many lovely times and positive changes. New challenges. An appreciation of the small things. Lots to be thankful for.

That said, I’ll be opening this bottle of bubbly tonight and drinking a toast to the end of 2021, and to the hope that 2022 is a very different year for all of us.
