A new year awaits

We wish you all a wonderful 2022.

As ever a time for reflection.

In many ways 2021 was a challenge, learning to adapt to a new normal, feeling the stupid losses of Brexit begin to bite deep, thankfully mostly avoiding losses that could have been even more painful.
But every coin has a flipside, if you're looking, and alive to it, there's always wonderment to be found. Much that was good came of this difficult year.
Becoming a student again, learning as much about myself as anything else, old dear friendships rekindled, loves reinforced.
And.
The step from just me to maybe something more for MHNW, now CIC Ltd. In our first year we've won 50% of all the grant applications we've made. Had it confirmed that our belief in the healing power of nature, when combined with the love in the world that is people, something as seemingly simple as Walking and Talking works, that Wellness Walks really are an endeavour worth pursuing. I'm immensely excited for what 2022 will bring.

This morning at ungodly o'clock I headed in for a volunteer shift on the phone lines, always a tough but rewarding gig. I pondered only briefly about today's blip because truth be told this week there could only ever be one Philosophy Friday, words that are on page one of the MHNW strategic plan. I've spent a lot of a lifetime getting into the metaphorical water to try and help, but it now feels right to try and also head upstream.

Philosophy Friday
We need to stop just pulling people out of the river.
We need to go upstream and find out why they're falling in.
