Church End
“The white fathers told us: I think, therefore I am. The Black mother within each of us - the poet – whispers in our dreams: I feel, therefore I can be free.”
Audre Lorde
A visit inside the local church today, I am at Church End after all, for a meditation to mark the end of the old before the beginning of the new. The church is basically 12th Century Norman, but it also has a Saxon gravestone incorporated in the stonework, decorated in the Viking Ringerike style from the time when the area was part of the Danish empire ruled over by King Cnut.
