Qualceram
This premises used to be that of the world renowned Arklow Pottery. Times became hard and they were taken over by Noritake of Japan. Times became harder still and they in turn were taken over by Qualceram who also bought out Shires of the UK and so the manufacture of fine china and everyday tableware was given over to the making of toilet bowls instead. Qualceram subsequently moved to new premises where they boomed for a while but I don't think things are going well right now. In the meantime the old factory is gradually falling apart.
I am back, as predicted by some. Back to say "thanks" to you all for causing yesterdays blip to hit the spotlight. The first time in 1,000 days for that to happen. I am overwhelmed with your kind and I'm sure flattering comments but thanks anyway. I also simply couldn't resist shooting a photo on my way home from work. Withdrawal symptoms but I must refrain from spending any more time hereabouts tonight. Radiators need bleeding. See you all soon.
