Biddle's Warehouse at Gloucester docks

I made a detour to the docks when visiting Gloucester today, as I wanted to check whether the 'Sailing Barge Gladys' was still being worked on in the shipyard. As it happened the yard was closed and there were a lot of old sailing boats moored up close by and I couldn't tell which was which. I particularly liked the small black sailing yacht which is in the first 'Extra'; it looks so classically elegant to my unskilled eye.

I also forgot a wide angle lens so only had my long telephoto zoom which hindered many possible views. I walked around in the sunshine and have added a couple of extras. I would ramble on about the history of the buildings, but it is too late at night. I may come back another day, but I sometimes wonder whether anyone is interested. Let me know?

The last 'Extra' was taken looking northwards over the tidal River Severn at Epney, showing a few of the thousands of birds flying down the river. I wish I could count the immense flocks and even identify the birds, but I can't. You might see specks from some of the flocks in the distance.
